Edward 'Eddy' Watkinson

90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 26, 2021.  Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late John and Rose (Frain) Watkinson. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Masello) Watkinson for 68 years.    He was a resident of Cranston for the last 34 years.

Mr. Watkinson was a business owner and mechanical engineer for 60 years until the time of his passing.  A veteran of the Korean War, he served as a member of the U.S. Navy Underwater Demolition Team and was awarded a Bronze Star for his valiant service to his country. He was a fun-loving grandfather and great-grandfather whose playful antics, jovial spirit and generosity will be missed deeply.

Besides his wife, he leaves two children; Gail Grossi and husband William Grossi of Warwick, James Watkinson and wife Catherine Watkinson of Lincoln, four grandchildren; Olivia Byron and husband Derek Byron of Warwick, Joshua Izzi and wife Kimberly Izzi of Cranston, Zachary Izzi and wife Anastasiya Izzi of Sparta, NJ and Amanda Watkinson of Lincoln; one brother; Clinton Watkinson of Swansea, two sisters; Ellen Forest of Livingston, NJ and Beverly Lebreaux of Windsor Locks, CT.  He was a brother to the late John Watkinson, Donald Watkinson, Robert Watkinson, William Watkinson, Irene Charles, Marlene Couitt, Jean Holden and Dolores Trombley.  He was also Great-Grandfather to Carter and Tenley Izzi, Madison and Micah Byron, Easton Izzi and Zoe Izzi.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
