Edward W. Wnuk, 79, of Narragansett, RI, passed away suddenly on October 3, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Pinocci) Wnuk for 47 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Leona (Marciniak) Wnuk. Besides his wife, Eddy leaves behind his loving children, Jolinda Pasciucco (John) of Huntington Beach, CA, and Edward J. Wnuk (Kendra) of South Kingstown, RI. He was the cherished grandfather of Peyton Pasciucco. He is also survived by his dear brother, Kenneth Wnuk (Barbara), his sister-in-law, Jacqueline Girgenti (Joseph), his brother-in-law, Joseph DiCarlo, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother-in-law of the late Shelia DiCarlo. Eddy was an alumnus of Mount Pleasant High School, where he played football and baseball. After earning a bachelor’s degree from RI College, he served in the RI Air National Guard. Having earned a master’s degree in education from Providence College, Eddy taught in the Providence School System for 33 years. As a passionate youth and high school football coach for over 50 years, Eddy was devoted to all of his student athletes. He was inducted into the RI Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2005, and the Classical High School Football Hall of Fame in 2017. Eddy touched the hearts of everyone who knew him and will be missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, RI 02882, on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:00 am. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eddy’s memory may be made to the RI High School Football Coaches Association scholarship fund, payable to Providence Grid Iron Club, C/O Robert Izzi, 12 Chandler Drive, Coventry, RI 02816.
