Edward G Vennell

Edward Graham Vennell, 78 passed away peacefully Monday , July 31, 2023 , at West View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with his family by his side. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frederick Vennell and Marjorie (McCarthy) Vennell and brother of the late Frederick (Ricky) Vennell Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Caroline (Paoletti) Vennell ; children, Jennifer Vennell and husband James Rougier of Cranston and Jaime (Vennell) Towle and husband William of Berlin, MA ; grandchildren, Mikayla Brooks, Zoe Towle and Tyler Towle,  as well as many nieces who he loved dearly.

Family first, work hard was not only how he lived his life but a very valuable lesson he taught his daughters. Ed worked for Leviton Manufacturing in Warwick for over 40 years until he retired. Most of his adult life he worked two or even three jobs doing whatever was needed to support his family. He worked long hours, didn’t get much sleep and yet was always there when needed. Never complaining because to him that is what a husband and father did.

Ed was a genuine kind hearted man always willing to help a friend or even a stranger in need. He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor and concern for others.

Ed enjoyed working on cars, his garden, playing the lottery and spending as much time with this family as possible. He was also a longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox.

For several decades Ed was a faithful donator of the RI Blood Center. He was also a huge defender of animals. Always doing what he could to help those in need.

Ed’s biggest accomplishment was providing for and supporting his family. He was a devoted husband and an amazing and dedicated father and grandfather.

Just like how he dealt with all life experiences he managed his illness with strength, dignity and grace.

On behalf of the Vennell family, a special thank you to the staff at West View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Continuum Hospice for their kindness and care.

There will be a private service held at Nadolillo Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society and/RI SPCA
