EDWARD J. TAVAROZZI, SR
93, A lifelong resident of Providence, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 14, 2011 at the Hebert Nursing Home in Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of the late Teresa R. (Carrara) Tavarozzi. Edward was born in Providence on August 25, 1917, the son of the late Antonio and Carmela (Corvese) Tavarozzi. Mr. Tavarozzi was a Dental Technician for Thompson Dental Lab for many years until his retirement in 1982 and was also a WW II Army veteran.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Joan Renzi of Cranston, Carol M. Hebert and her husband Richard of Smithfield and was the father of the late Edward J. Tavarozzi Jr., Anthony P. Tavarozzi and Thomas M. Tavarozzi. He was also the cherished grandfather of Daniel Rinaldi, Sarah Renzi, Maegan Hebner, Amanda and Emily Hebert, great grandfather of Ashley Rinaldi, and great-great grandfather of Andreas. Edward was also the brother of Edith Martinelli of Johnston, Leonora Ferrante of East Greenwich, and the late Frank and Anthony Tavarozzi and Carolyn D'Ambra.
His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St. Cranston. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to:
