EDWARD N. SACCOCCIA, SR

86, of Cranston, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at home. He was the beloved husband of Lucille (Crudale) Saccoccia and the late Dorothy (Carnevale) Saccoccia. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Antocicco) Saccoccia. Mr. Saccoccia was the owner of EDSAC Music and was a self employed music teacher and musician for the past sixty years. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WW II. Ed was a member of the Providence Federation of Musicians, and the Accordion Teachers of MA. Ed was also a member of the American Accordion Association of NY and made numerous jazz arrangements for large and small bands. He won the 1938 National Trio playing the accordion with the American Accordion Association.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Edward N. Saccoccia, Jr. and his wife Rosanne of East Amherst, NY, Beverly M. Livezey and her husband John of Kingwood, TX, Nicholas A. Saccoccia of Cranston, David M. Saccoccia of Phoenix, AZ, Paul M. Saccoccia of Warwick, and Alfred J. Saccoccia and his wife Cheryl of Cranston. Ed was the cherished grandfather of Michael, Patrick, Kevin, Brittany, Ryan, Eric, and Matthew. He was the brother of Walter L. Saccoccia of Brooksfield, FL, Rita A. Anderson of Cranston, and the late Leonora Topazio.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.VISITING HOURS Friday 4-8 p.m.
