88, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara E. (Ferrante) Rotella. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Angelina (Iannuccillo) Rotella.
Edward was a WW-II U.S. Navy veteran who served aboard the USS San Jacinto with former President George H. W. Bush; and was a member of IBEW Local Union # 99; and the American Legion. He was an electrician at Coken Electric Company for many years before his retirement.
He was the beloved father of Sandra Faria and her husband Joseph and David Rotella and his wife Laura Kallock; loving grandfather of James, Michael and Christopher Merolla, Joseph Rotella, Austin Kallock and the late Joey Faria. He was the dear brother of Thomas Rotella, Evelyn DiStefano and the late Rose Vessella; and loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew's Church, 1291 Elmwood Ave. Cranston at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston. VISITING HOURS are SUNDAY from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
