80, of Cranston, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at home. He was the beloved husband of fifty-six years to Norma A. (Iannuccilli) Rodi. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Antonio and Olympia (Saccoccia) Rodi. Mr. Rodi was a self employed contractor, carpenter, and cabinet maker for sixty years before retiring in 2006. He was instrumental in overseeing the construction of Holy Apostles Church. Ed was a communicant and founding member of the church. He was a former communicant and trustee at St. Ann's Church, Cranston. Ed was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Edward A. Rodi and his wife Cecelia "Cookie", Steven L. Rodi, Glenn J. Rodi, and Linda A. Hardiman and her husband Jeffrey, all of Cranston. Ed was the cherished grandfather of Steven, Adam, Christiana, and Edward Rodi, and Jack and Sarah Hardiman. He was the brother of Ann Frisch of Mission Viejo, CA and Anthony J. Rodi, Sr. of Cranston. He was the former father-in-law of Elizabeth V. Rodi.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
