78, of Ruskin, FL formerly of Cranston, died November 26, 2009 at home. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late James E. and Anna L. (Donovan) Perry. Mr. Perry was a Lieutenant at the Cranston Fire Department for twenty years before his retirement. He was also employed by the former Old Stone Bank of Providence. Edward was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. Mr. Perry moved from Cranston to Florida in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0024 of Bradenton, FL., Elks Club of Palmetto, FL., and the USS Lowry DD-770 Association. He is survived by his children Scott Perry of Warwick and Cindy Corcoran and her husband Timothy of Foster. Eddie was the grandfather of two and the great-grandfather of two. He was the brother of Katherine "Kay" Donovan-McCabe of Whitefield, NH and the late Arthur R. Perry, James A. Perry and Rita Frankonis.
