EDWARD RASO

79, of Forand Circle, Johnston, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Edward was the beloved husband of Josephine (Rotondo) Raso. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Stefano and Josephine (Verdolotti) Raso. Mr. Raso was employed as a machine operator for the former General Electric Corporation until his retirement and was employed by Stop & Shop for nine years after his retirement. Edward was also a US Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Edward A. Raso of North Scituate, Anthony S. Raso and his wife Sharon of Glocester, RI and Stanley J. Raso and his wife Roberta of Cape Coral, FL. Edward was the grandfather of six as well as the great grandfather of six. He was the brother of Carmella Pennacchia of Cranston and Guido Raso of Elizabethtown, KY.

His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Church, Hartford Avenue, Johnston at 10:00 a.m. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 4:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
