EDWARD A. "BROTHER" McCOOMBS

Edward A. "Brother" McCoombs, 68, of Batcheller Ave., Cranston passed away Wednesday March 24, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved and devoted husband of 46 years to Marilyn (Pieroni) McCoombs.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Althan L. and Leah G. (Fletcher) McCoombs. Edward was a Quality Control Supervisor at Davol Inc. for many years, a painting contractor with his dad, Al McCoombs and Son, and was also a dispatcher for Road Island Red Bus Company. He chaperoned for many years with the Rays of Sunshine, Christian theater group. He was an avid Red Sox fan, but loved nothing more than watching his own grandchildren play sports.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Suzanne L. Rathbun and her husband David A. of Cranston, Melissa M. Antone and her husband Andrew J. of Wakefield, his loving grandchildren, Alexander, Sarah-Marie, Harrison and Jack. He is survived by a sister Mary T. Aidjian of Warwick. He was the brother-in-law of Robert A. Pieroni and is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Edward A. McCoombs Jr. and brother of the late Althan "Red " McCoombs.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston
Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 p.m.
