EDWARD M. MAYNARD, SR

67, of Cranston passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn (Marshall) Maynard. They were married for twenty-four years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Herbert A. and Mary (Kozusko) Maynard, Sr. Edward was a Rescue Captain for the Providence Fire Department for twenty-three years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Providence Firefighters Association, Local #799. Edward was an avid pool player.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Linda J. McCormick and her husband Kevin of Cranston, Edward M. Maynard, Jr. and his wife Karen O'Connor of Warwick, Catherine J. McCully and her husband Walter of Cortez, CO. Lori A. Waugh and her husband Rick, and Richard I. Brown, Jr. and his wife Valerie, all of West Warwick. Edward was the brother of James Maynard of Cranston and the late Herbert A. Maynard, Jr. He was the cherished grandfather of fifteen and the great-grandfather of one great-grandson. Edward is also survived by his beloved dog "Misty".

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Monday 4-8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.
