78, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 surrounded by his loving wife and friends. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn Lannon for 53 years.
A lifetime resident of Cranston, Rhode Island he was the beloved son of the late James F. and Mary (Smith) Lannon.
He is also survived by his daughter, Dr. Catherine Lannon, and sister Patricia Lannon Kansas, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Thomas J. Lannon.
Edward was a graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School and Providence College. He was the sole proprietor of Lannon Insurance and Real Estate in Cranston and was a prime mover and on the Board of Directors of McCauley Village in Providence. Ed Lannon has been a real estate broker for the last 30 years.
He started his career in his hometown of Cranston and has been a member of The Greater Providence Board of Realtors (GPBOR), as well as the RI Multiple Listing Service (MLS), for 20 years. He is a licensed broker in both RI and Massachusetts.
As an active broker, Ed led a multi-million dollar sales team for 10 years with his personal emphasis on commercial sales and leasing. Ed has served on the GPBOR's Golf Committee, raising funds for Hasbro Children's Hospital and other worthy causes. He has also served as a director for statewide MLS. He was also a member of the Cranston Board of Realtors. Ed enjoys swimming, cross country skiing and, of course, golf.
VISITING HOURS will be held from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, West Warwick. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph Church, 854 Providence St., West Warwick, RI 02893.
