EDWARD K. HARRIS, JR

Edward K. Harris Jr. 82, of Cranston, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at home with his family. He was the beloved husband for 59 years of the late Norma A. (Conlon) Harris. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edward K. Harris and Alice E. Arnold. Ed worked for Canteen Corporation for more than 35 years before retiring, and following his retirement enjoyed working at The Kayak Centre. He was a US Marine Corp veteran, serving in the Korean War. Ballroom dancing, bowling and traveling were among of his favorite hobbies. He is survived by two loving daughters Debora Shapiro of Charlestown, MA and Linda Higger of Basking Ridge, NJ and was the father in law of Jeff Shapiro and Rick Higger. Poppy Ed was the cherished grandfather of Daryl West, Lauren, Matthew and Ellen Higger. Ed also leaves his dear friend, Gail Kenney of West Warwick. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Interment will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
