Edward "Eddie" C. Colozzi

94, of Cranston passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center.  He was the husband of the late Caroline (Neri) Colozzi and the son of the late Giovanni and Maria (Carnevale) Colozzi.

Edward was a veteran of the United States Navy and Army, serving during both the World War II and Korean Wars.  He worked for the Army Map Service (AMS), later renamed the Defense Mapping Agency (DMA) for 30 years until his retirement in 1982.  Edward also served in the Army Reserve following his wartime service, obtaining the rank of Master Sergeant.  He was widely known for his exceptional culinary skills and enjoyed preparing Italian dishes for his family and friends.  As a longtime member of the St. Mary’s Feast Society, he would often cook for his buddies followed by legendary card games.

Ed served as Institutional Representative for Troop 2 Knightsville, Boy Scouts of Amercia.

Edward was a working musician for many years and long-time member of “The Aristocrats”.  As a guitarist, he had an outstanding and innate ability to make his Gibson Byrdland guitar sing.  He loved entertaining people and making them laugh with his jokes and impressions.

Edward is survived by his three children, Marie Rossi of Cranston, Mark Colozzi and his wife, Joanne of Cranston and Edward Colozzi, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of New York, his grandchildren, Angela Twiggs and her husband Thomas, Gina Etchells and her husband, Dennis, Alicia Coppa and her husband Jason and Jenna Tateosian and her husband, Ronald Jr., his great grandchildren, John Thomas, Madelaine, Maeve, Addyson, Dennis III and Jason Michael.

Edward was the brother of the late Joseph Colozzi, John Colozzi, Carl Colozzi, Italo Colozzi, Antoinette DeAngelus, Carmella Zito, Anna Caranci, Grace Padula and Virginia Proulx.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 22nd, at 11:00am in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston. Burial with military honors will be held at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
