Edith J. (D'Iorio) Murphy

80, of Coventry, a former resident of East Providence for fifty years, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2021.  She was the wife of the late George Murphy.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Jeanne (Scapetta) D’Iorio.

Mrs. Murphy worked as a secretary for thirty years, retiring from Higgins, Cavanaugh & Cooney, LLP.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband and was a member of the Bonnet Shores Beach Club.

She leaves her three children, Gregory Murphy of East Providence, Sean Murphy and his wife Dolly of Grand Canyon, AZ and Kara Floody and her husband Michael of North Kingstown; two sisters, Carmel Izzo of FL and Joan Putney of CA; five grandchildren, Amanda and Matthew Murphy, Olivia O’Connor, Nicholas and Samuel Floody; and several nieces and nephews.  She was the grandmother of the late Stephanie Floody.
