Edgard Derogene

Edgard Derogene, 69, of Providence passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023, at home with his family by his side.

Born in Duvier, Haiti, Edgard immigrated to the United States to provide a better life for his family, a mission he successfully accomplished during and continues to see through well-after his passing. He would later serve as the foundation, opening the door for his family and their families to join him. As the successful business owner of E.D. Menswear, the talented tailor is not only remembered for his skills but his unyielding buckets of wisdom and his famous phrase “No Problem.” Many traveled far and wide to seek Edgard’s counsel, always providing peace and serenity to those who he encountered. Where Edgard walked otherers would follow and listen. It is his unyielding love and compassion for others that he earned the respect as a leader and the foundational pillar of the Haitian community. He was also a longtime Member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Edgard was the son of the late Derosier and Elixa (Pierre) Derogene. He was the beloved husband of Marie Joseline (Mondestin) Derogene for 37 years. Besides his wife he is survived by his children Brandy Olsen Derogene and his wife Pamela Yuen, Ruby Nephtalie Derogene, and Rodney Radley Derogene. He was the brother of Delva Derogene of Haiti; Elianette Eliacin of Pawtucket; Lucia Derogene of Pawtucket; Lea Derogene of Pawtucket; Ossee Derogene of Taunton, MA; a half-brother Gasmail Derogene of Haiti.  He was predeceased by a brother Delouis Romelus.

VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday from 4:00- 8:00pm, at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.

The Funeral arrangements, per Edgard’s wishes, will be a private ceremony.
