Dr. David A. Marcantonio, DDS, 62 of Cranston passed away peacefully Tuesday March 15, 2022 with his family by his side. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Norma R. (Turchetta) Marcantonio. He was the longtime companion of Lisa Gibree.
David first attended Classical High School, then St. Louis University and went on to receive his Doctorate in general dentistry from Marquette University. He started his own dental practice and was in business for over 35 years. David took good care of himself, a gym rat who went there at all hours and almost never missed a day. David was an avid sports fan who loved the Red Sox and Patriots. He loved to fish and enjoyed long rides on his Harley-Davidson and the best destination were the beaches of Galilee, especially Salty Brine.
David is survived by Lisa, and a son, Gio Jesse. He was the beloved brother of Steven A. Marcantonio, Sr. and Lynne D. and Dr. John Paquette, devoted uncle of Steven and Stephanie Marcantonio and a favorite nephew of Aunt Dot, Dorothy Macksoud.
His funeral will be held on Monday March 21, 2022 at 9:00 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Bartholomew’s Church 297 Laurel Hill Ave, Providence. Burial will take place at St. Ann Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place on Sunday from 3-6pm.
For the last 3 years, David, a non-smoker, bravely battled an aggressive form of non-small cell lung cancer known as ROS-1. In memory of David, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association, 260 West Exchange St., Providence, RI 02903.
