91, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at HopeHealth Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of MaryAnne (Lach) DeBalsi for 64 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Luigi and Filomena (Pittore) DeBalsi.
Anthony was a US Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Classical High School, Providence College and Georgetown University School of Dentistry. He opened his own dental practice on Oaklawn Avenue in Cranston in 1958, where he continued to practice for over 50 years. He was a member of the RI Dental Association and served as a President of the Cranston Chapter. He was also a member of the St. Joseph’s Men’s Guild at Immaculate Conception Church.
Besides his wife MaryAnne, he is survived by his loving children, Anthony J. DeBalsi, Jr. and his wife Patricia of West Warwick, David J. DeBalsi of Cranston, Thomas A. DeBalsi and his wife Kristin of Canaan, NH, MaryAnn Palmer of Cranston and her late husband William, and the late Paul G. DeBalsi; cherished grandchildren, Adria, Anthony III, Chelsey, Nicole, Matthew, Justin, Paul, William Jr., Jenna and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Annalee, Adaline, Arya, Mila, Tessa and Linnea. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Bonnie DeBalsi and nephew Christopher Gentile. He was the brother of the late Rose Marie Gentile.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston. Burial will be private.
