Dr. Harold R. Caldarone, Sr. OD 89, of Meaghan Brooke Lane, Warwick, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Cedar Crest Nursing Center, Cranston. He was the husband of Norma A. (Fioravanti) Caldarone. They were married for twenty-two years. Dr. Caldarone operated his private practice for thirty-four years before retiring in 1986. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WW II. Dr. Caldarone was a member of the Lions, Kiwanis, Italo-American and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick's Clubs. He enjoyed music and dancing, was an avid golfer and bridge player and traveling to Florida. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Camille Allen and her husband Fred of Pascoag, Harold R. Caldarone, Jr. and his wife Angela of Coventry and his step-daughter Roberta A. Giordano of Warwick. He was the grandfather of Donison Allen, Rebecca Bogyo, Mark and Matthew Caldarone and Amanda Musumeci. Harold was the brother of Carmina Clark of Cranston, Madaline "Freddie" Hehir of Edison, NJ, Lynne Caldarone of Havertown, PA and the late Marion MacLean. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Pius Church, 55 Elmhurst Avenue, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
