75, of North Providence, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at home. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia Anne (DeMaio) Lombardi for 43 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Maria (Lombardi) Lombardi. Anthony was a biology teacher and english teacher at North Providence High School until the time of his death, and had also taught at both St.Raphael Academy and Bishop Hendricken High School. An avid cook, he worked in the food industry from the time he was a young man and owned Tony's International House of Cheese in North Providence from 1973-1979. Anthony graduated from Providence College in 1958 and the New England School of Law in 1967. He was an active member of the North Providence Democratic Town Committee, member of the North Providence Federation of Teachers and the Laborers International Local 1033. A devoted family person who loved cooking for his family and friends, he took pleasure in seeing people enjoy his food. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Dr. Anthony J. Lombardi, Jr. and his wife Julie, his son Stephen A. Lombardi and his wife Kammie, his grandchildren Brittany, Alicia, Stephen, Lorenzo and a fifth grandchild, Anthony Joseph, expected in February. He was the brother of Salvatore Lombardi and the late Frank Lombardi. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church , 64 Brayton Ave. Providence at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
