DOUGLAS H. "JEFF" JEFFREY

73, of Providence, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of forty-three years to Barbara C. (Gouveia) Jeffrey. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he was a son of the late Robert and Grace (Park) Jeffrey. Jeff was a fire fighter for the City of Providence Fire Department for eighteen years before retiring in 1986. He was a US Navy veteran serving with the Sea Bee's in Vietnam. He was a former Little League coach in Silver Lake. Jeff was a season ticket holder for the Pawtucket Red Sox for many years. He was a lifelong NY Mets and Giants fan.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving son, Glenn A. Jeffrey and his wife Cheryl of Cranston. Jeff was the cherished papi of Gabrielle and Giselle. He was the brother of Charles Jeffrey of Metuchen, NJ. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Interment with Military Honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS Thursday 4-8 p.m.
