DOROTHY R. (ROY) SCHAFFER

84, of Sun City Center, FL, formerly of Narragansett, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Sun Terrace Health Care Center in Sun City Center, FL. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry J. Schaeffer, Jr. Born in Peacedale, RI, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Matilda (Harrison) Roy.

Mrs. Schaeffer was a secretary at Narragansett High School for many years before retiring and was a volunteer for Sun City Center Emergency Squad for 15 years. She was the devoted mother of Steven J. Schaeffer of Sun City Center, FL, John E. Schaeffer of Portsmouth, RI and Joan M. Gardner and her husband Zachary of Warwick, RI; loving grandmother of eight; loving great-grandmother of four; and dear sister of Mary Colston of South Kingstown, RI and the late Joseph Roy. Funeral from the Nardolillo Funeral Home-SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. (RT.1A) Narragansett on Friday at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett at 11 a.m. Interment will be at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
