DOROTHY E. (PREISS) PECCHIA

87, of Cranston, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Sergio "Gene" Pecchia. She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late John and Elsie (Solbrig) Preiss. Mrs. Pecchia was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church and a member of the Cranston Senior Center where she enjoyed activities and outings with her many friends.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Angela M. Lima and her husband Manuel of East Providence, Dorothy A. Pecchia of Cranston, her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Lantagne, Andrea Dufault and Jessica, Gary and Mason Bogosian. She was the loving "GiGi" to her great grandchildren Brody Lantagne and Ruby Dufault. Dorothy was also the sister of Shirley Deighan of Coventry, and the sister of the late Phyllis Clesas, Marie Deighan, Virginia Jackson, John W. Preiss, Arline Van Horn and Evelyn McAuslan. Dorothy had a passion for life, and was loved and admired by her family, friends and neighbors.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Matthew's Church , located at the corner of Park and Elmwood Avenues in Cranston. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. VISITING HOURS: Thursday: 4-7 pm.
