DOROTHY C. DELLA GROTTA

71, of Johnston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas A. Della Grotta. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Angelina (Ottiano) DiMunzio of North Providence, and the late Batista DiMunzio.

Besides her mother she is survived by her loving children, Nicholas A. Della Grotta of Davie, FL, Anthony J. Della Grotta and his partner Josh Bitolas of Studio City, CA, Gregory S. Della Grotta and his wife Maria of Hope, RI. Dorothy was the cherished grandmother of Colbie, Madison, and Victoria Della Grotta. She was the sister of Marie Papa and her husband Steven of North Providence, JoAnne Birchfield and her husband James of North Providence, and Samuel DiMunzio and his wife Myrna of Johnston.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Monday 8:30-10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
