DORA POURNARAS

85, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Sunny View Nursing Home, Warwick. She was the beloved wife of Charles W. Pournaras. They were married for sixty-three years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Helen (Christara) Vican. She was a supermarket associate for the former Scott Market for many years before her retirement. Dora was a member of the Cranston Election Committee, Philoptochos Society and the Baking Committee both at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving children, Elaine Jaffe of Fort Lauderdale, FL and William Pournaras of Cranston. Dora was the grandmother of three. She was the sister of Olga Mihailides of Barrington and the late Stella Vican, George Vican, and Zoe Pappas.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Sunday 5-8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence.
