Donna M. (Izzi) Guilmette, 73, of Johnston passed away on October 3rd with her family by her side. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy M. (Delfino) Izzi. She was the beloved and devoted wife of 53 years, to William H. Guilmette, Jr.
She was the cherished “Ma” to Deborah Ziadeh (Emile), Maria Guilmette, Kathy Guilmette- Cipriano (Victor), Tammy Meloni (David, Sr.), Patti Davis (Jeff), Dina Patnaud (Michael), Dino Guilmette, and the late William H. Guilmette, III. She was the beloved “Gram” to twenty-one grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was the loving sister of Dina Izzo (Anthony) and Elaine Parenti (late Ronald) and a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Donna was our matriarch, deeply rooted in family values. She took pride in spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, creating cherished annual traditions like massive Easter egg hunts, Christmas Eves and weekly family dinners. Family was everything to her.
She was the proud owner of Twin Willow Stables in Johnston, where, for decades, she poured her heart and soul into creating a home for anyone who walked through the barn doors - animals and people alike - teaching us that our lives hold a purpose far greater than ourselves. With conviction and integrity, she always stood up for what was right; her work ethic and strength inspired everyone around her.
Also, a dear friend to many, she will be missed by all. She loved Elvis, Aretha Franklin, and Motown music - and was not afraid to show it.
Simply stated - to know her was to love her.
