Donna J. DeLeon

71, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of Hector DeLeon.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Robert Randall and Grace Spellman.

Donna was an advocate and counselor for many years at the RI Coalition Against Domestic Violence.  An avid reader, Donna loved books.  She was an incredible cook and enjoyed listening to music.  A dedicated mother, Donna cherished time spent at home with her family.

Besides her husband, she leaves five children, Samuel Spellman and his wife Jennifer of North Providence, Eduardo Alfonso and his wife Billye-Jo of Cranston, Danilo Alfonso and his wife Jeanine of Warwick, Roman Alfonso and his wife Veronica of Warwick and Marisol DeLeon of North Providence; her siblings, John T. O’Brien of Woonsocket, Gary Toole of Las Vegas, NV and Karen Pastor of East Providence, Norma McAteer of Warwick and Robin Laitelle of Warwick; twelve grandchildren, Victoria Grace Alfonso, Samantha Lynn Alfonso, Helayna Grace Alfonso, Ava Victoria Alfonso, Alex Beltran, Christian Beltran, Alexandria Spellman, Taylor Spellman and Samuel Spellman, Natalia Ruzzo, Antonio Ruzzo,and Roman Brizio; and three great-grandchildren.  She was the sister of the late Gloria Mendez.

Her funeral and burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RI Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 641 Bald Hill Road, Warwick, RI 02886.
