Donald P. Gormley

Donald P. Gormley, 79, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at The Village at Waterman Lake in Greenville.  He was the beloved husband of the late Judith S. (Bell) Gormley.  Born in San Francisco, CA, he was the son of the late John “Vin” and Hope F. (O’Brien) Gormley.

Donald graduated from La Salle Academy and Providence College and was an English teacher at Hope High School in Providence for 34 years before retiring and later worked for the Providence Teachers Union.

He was the devoted father of Robyn Gormley-Jackson and her husband Nicholas of Glocester; cherished grandfather of Quinn, Amelia and Ellie Jackson; and dear brother of Charles Gormley and Christine Jennings both of Cranston and John Gormley of San Francisco. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rocco Church, 931 Atwood Ave., Johnston at 11 a.m.  Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.   VISITING HOURS are Wednesday, May 15th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman St. – Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
