Donald David Bianco

November 3, 1941 — August 19, 2023

Donald David Bianco

81, of Johnston, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Jacklyn L. (Barnette) Bianco. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Pasquale and Rachel (Lombardi) Bianco. Donald served in the Rhode Island National Guard and the Air Force Reserve. He worked as the Assistant Vice President of Facilities and Administrative Services (CFM) for FM Global, where he worked for over 30 years.

Donald found his love of Faith in Jesus Christ through the Roman Catholic Church as a young altar boy at Holy Cross Church, on Hartford Avenue, Providence, which never left him. Don and his wife, Jackie, were co-chairs of the Liturgy Committee during the Renew Program at Saint Robert Bellarmine Parish, Johnston, RI. Don was also a lector and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist

Donald was a founder and first President of the Central High School Alumni Association, Providence. He also served as one of the last managers of the beloved Shepard Tea Room Restaurant in Providence.

Donald was the author of a cookbook, "Donald's Favorite Recipes" and a baking book, "Donald's Bakery Collection" as well as a co-author of "Portrait of Jackie", along with his children. He wrote the music and lyrics to a song called "Better Days" in memory of his wife Jackie, arranged and sung by Tom Roy.

Donald was the epitome of a "Jack of all trades", particularly in all phases of construction. He loved turning every bit of square footage in their several homes into useful space. He built six completely finished basements in these homes, some just a couple of rooms and a few with bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchen or kitchenettes facilities using his self-taught skills, with the help of his brothers, in electrical, plumbing, and rough and finish carpentry work. He loved building things for his children and granddaughters.

He is survived by his loving children, Stephanie M. McNamara of Uxbridge, MA, Diane M. Ayotte and her husband Gerald of Plymouth, MA, and David A. Bianco and his wife Laurie of Boston, MA; cherished grandchildren, Victoria B. McNamara and Jaquelyn M. McNamara. There was nothing more important to Donald than family.

Donald was the dear brother of Francis Ronald Bianco, Cecile Mary Ann Halvorsen, and the late Anthony John Bianco, Albert Alfred Bianco, Arthur William Bianco, Pasquale Joseph Bianco, Peter Joseph Bianco, John Francis Bianco, Richard Edward Bianco, Robert Raymond Bianco and Joseph Peter Bianco. He was the brother-in-law of Dorothy Bianco, Patricia Bianco, Roberta Bianco, and the late Lena Bianco, Dorothy Bianco, Victoria Bianco, Joanna Bianco, Assunta Bianco, and Evelyn Bianco and Dennis Halvorsen.  Donald is also survived by several beloved nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.
