DOMENIC DE CONTE

Domenic DeConte 83, of Burnett Street, Johnston, died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the husband of Mary E. (Petteruto) DeConte. They were married for sixty years. Born in Lawrence, MA he was a son of the late Pasquale and Angelina (Laorenza) DeConte. Mr. DeConte was an Insurance Agent for Prudential Insurance Company for twenty-three years before retiring in 1980. He was a US Army veteran serving during WW II in the European Theatre at the Invasion of Normandy and was in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. DeConte was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Church and a member of AMVETS. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughters, Susan A. DeConte and Lory A. DeConte, both of Johnston. Mr. DeConte was the grandfather of Dina M. Needham and her husband Jeremy of Cranston, Stephen G. Evangelista and his wife Adriana of Baltimore, MD and David S. Evangelista and his wife Carmen of Spain. He was the great-grandfather of Dylan, Mallory and Alyssa Needham and Sophia and Nicholas Evangelista. Mr. DeConte was the brother of Amelia Raviele of Cranston and the late Rose Ferro and Frank and Elio DeConte. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Johnston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Tuesday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Shelf, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
