94, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 28, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael P. Varrato, Sr. Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Filomena (DeCasto) D’Ercole.
Dolores enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. She especially loved spending time with her family. Dolores spent her final days doing things that made her happy like reading, doing puzzles, and sitting outside enjoying the sunshine. She will always be remembered for being sweet, witty and having a great sense of humor. Her smile and laugh were infectious and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving children, Linda Damiani and her companion Ken DiIorio of South Kingstown, Lori Varrato and her companion Karen Saez of Cranston, Lisa Moynihan and her husband Douglas, and the late Michael P. Varrato, Jr. and Paula Gansert; daughter-in-law Sandra Varrato. She was affectionately known as “Gram” to her eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Dolores was predeceased by her two siblings, Anthony D’Ercole and Katherina Colacone and survived by her brother-in-law Michael Colacone.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday at 9:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Ave, Providence. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS will be held on Sunday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: VNA of Rhode Island, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886.
