Dolores G. DiOrio, aged 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Cranston, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday August 24, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph DiOrio for over 50 years.
Born in Providence was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josphine (Procaccanti) Petrucci. .
Dolores a devout catholic, had a fulfilling career, working at New England Telephone and Citizens Bank, all while providing a loving home for her family. After her retirement, Dolores cherished spending more time with her family and found immense joy in family gatherings on Thursday evenings.She appreciated the simple pleasures of life, such as basking in the sun at Jamestown Shores Beach and enjoying Bingo events at the Foxwoods casino. Additionally, Dolores looked forward to monthly gatherings with her lifelong childhood friends and various travel excursions that added richness and joy to her life.
She is survived by her four children Joseph DiOrio and his wife Vilma (Lucky) of North Providence, Laurie DeCesare and her husband Roland of Chepachet, Anthony DiOrio and his partner Jacqueline Murdock of Cumberland, and Denise Dottorand her husband Corado of Cranston. Dolores was also a proud grandmother to Melinda, Kimberly, Joseph III, Nicole DiOrio, Ryan DiOrio, Danielle Dottor, Cory Dottor, and a great-grandmother to Sofia and Joseph DiOrio IV. Grandmother figure to Dominc Murdock. She was the sister of Augustino Petrucci and his beloved late wife Mary of Warwick as well as Janice Dohring and husband Fred of Largo Florida.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday August 29, 2024, at 10:00 am at Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchid Rd, Cranston. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. VISITING HOURS will be held on Wednesday from 3:00- 6:00pm at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Hope Health Hospice team for their compassionate support.
