69, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2022 with her family surrounding her in her final hours. She was the beloved wife of John F. Carroccia. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Eleanor (Silvestri) Paglio.
Besides her beloved husband of 45 years, she is survived by her devoted daughter Maria T. Carroccia, and her siblings Leonard Paglio and his wife Karen, Donna Santoro and her husband Anthony, and Elena DiBattista and her husband Mark. She also leaves many cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She is also survived by her beloved mother-in-law Anna Carroccia, and cherished sister-in-law’s Ann Carroccia, and Janet Ciampanelli and her husband Daniel.
As a graduate of Mt Pleasant High School, Diane worked as a manager at the Mayflower Savings Bank in Cranston. She later graduated from the Costin's School of Cosmetology, becoming a successful hair stylist for many years. Subsequently, she found her most rewarding vocation as a teacher's assistant for Little Apostles Preschool at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Cranston, and then at Amazing Kids Academy in Johnston.
Diana was a true survivor of many serious health issues throughout the years, though many would never know it. Her strength and positive outlook on life always kept her moving forward. She was the rock and pillar of strength for her family and anyone who knew her. Never did she lose her compassion for others, her sense of humor, her childlike curiosity, or her infectious smile or gregarious laughter in the face of adversity. To know Diana was to love her.
There was no limit to the depth of her love and commitment to her husband John and her daughter Maria. It was by that same passionate, endearing love and devotion to them, which carried and protected her through various storms of ill health throughout her life; and that has now insured Diana with the solace of finding a dignified, peaceful eternal rest with our Lord.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston.
