55, A 21 year veteran of the Coventry Police Department died from a fall while trimming trees at his home on Whitman Rd. on Friday, December 30, 2011. Wayne was a member of the Detective Division since September 2001. He was born in Cranston, a son of the late Lemuel and beloved Blanche (Paliotta) French.
Wayne was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan who enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to run, garden, hike, golf, fish, hunt, and relax on the pond. Wayne loved great food whether cooking a gourmet meal at home or eating at a fine restaurant. He had a contagious smile and loved serving the community.
Wayne was the beloved fiancAC. of Tammy Hicks and the former husband of Karen French of 28 years, both of Coventry. He is also survived by his loving children, Crystal French and Christopher French of Coventry and his fiancAC. Daniella Viticonte; his devoted siblings Garry French, Sr. of Coventry and Gail French of NJ. He was the cherished uncle of Garry French, Jr., Kim French, Alea French and Kerry Casey. Wayne would have been the proud grandfather of a soon to be baby girl.
VISITING HOURS: Thursday 3-8 pm at NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, RI. His funeral will be held on Friday at 12:00 noon at Christ Church, 1025 Main St., East Greenwich. The burial will be private. Everyone is welcome to bring pictures of Wayne to the funeral home for display.
