Derek L Durante

50, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023.  He was born in Quincy, MA a son of Frank and Jane (May) Durante of Hanson, MA.   Besides his parents, he is survived by his former wife, Jolene Durante and his loving children: Anthony and Vincent Durante of Cranston.  Derek was the brother of the late: Tracey May Durante.

Derek was a Cumberland middle school teacher.  He was dedicated to helping children achieve their potential.   Derek was  involved in the Cranston youth lacrosse program.   You could always hear Derek's "vocal encouragement" for his teams.  Derek was a passionate  sports fan, whether it was Cowboys playing the Eagles or the Sox vs the Yankees.   Derek will be missed by many.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9am from the Nardolillo Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston.  Burial will take place in St.  Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
Visiting Hours: Friday 4-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that you select donating to your favorite charity in memory of Derek or go out to your favorite restaurant and have a drink to remember him.
