44, of Hanover Street, Warwick, passed away July 29 peacefully at home after a long illness surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, she was the cherished daughter of Serafino (Sal) and Carolyn (Mattera) Genuario of Warwick. She was the granddaughter of the late Stephen and Melina Mattera and the late Ralph and Nancy Genuario. She was a graduate of Prout Memorial High School and Salve Regina University, 1987, majoring in English and journalism. She was a member of Mensa. Denise was Best Feature Writer by the RI Writers Guild. She lived life to the fullest despite her 33 years of illness, loving the outdoors. She was a member of the Mountain Meadow Riders Snowmobile Club of NH and served as its secretary for five years, a member of the North Country ATV Club, the North American Hunting Club, National Wild Turkey Federation, Women in the Outdoors, Wallum Lake Rod and Gun Club, National Rifle Association, and was a certified instructor for the NH Fish and Game Department Safe Rider Program. She was a master gardener and licensed arborist and was also a 2nd lieutenant in the RI Civil Air Patrol and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Associates Lodge 7. In addition to her parents, she was the beloved sister of Karen Vincent and husband Mark of Cumberland, and Stephen Genuario and wife Mary of Warwick. She was the cherished "Auntie D" of Christina and Sarah Genuario and Matthew and Jessica Vincent and was the beloved niece of Paulette and Joseph DiLorenzo of Warwick. She also leaves her lifelong friend, Ann Dumont, and her faithful yellow lab, Meadow. Denise will be sadly missed by all who knew her for the determination to live life to the fullest despite her years of pain and suffering. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 am in St. Clement Church ,111 Long St., Warwick, RI 02886. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery Cranston.
