David A. "Bogie" Vitale

69 of Rosebud, Arkansas passed on into eternal life on May 20, 2021 of natural causes.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was a son of the late Angelo Vitale and Vernice (Stewart) Vitale.

David was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School in Providence, RI and was a proud veteran of the US Army from 1969, serving in Vietnam from 1970 until being honorably discharged in 1971. David later attended Johnson & Wales University for Business Management.

David was a District Manager for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette from 2004 until his retirement in 2017. He was an independent sales contractor for USA Today and Batesville Guard newspapers. David also worked part time for Cowboy Chevrolet during his retirement. He was a frequent guest on the Little Rock, Arkansas 103.7 ''The Buzz'' sports radio show where he would give his predictions and opinions on everything from sports to life.

David was an avid New England sports fan, enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing Bocce with family, a decent cup of coffee, good food and lots of it, particularly Italian food, Rock N' Roll music, discussing sports, current events, life and spending quality time with family & friends. David became a friend to everyone he met and could talk for hours articulately on any subject.

He could always be seen wearing his beloved Boston Red Sox or New England Patriots gear, and loved animals and the beauty of nature. His chicken wings at family barbecues were always a hit and David would stand at the grill proudly with a ''mopina'' (Italian dishtowel) slung over his shoulder.

Anyone who knew David knows he was larger than life in heart and spirit. His sense of humor, warmth and smile were infectious and he was a beloved friend to everyone. His kind nature was ingrained within and he shared that spirit from his heart graciously with everyone who knew him. His light will be bright forever.

David is loved and survived by his brother Emmanuel ''Manny'' Vitale and his wife Micki, sister Sharon Vitale, niece Michelle Vitale, nephew Marc Vitale and his wife Kelly, cousin Cecelia ''Cookie'' Rodi and her family, all from Rhode Island, and his former wife, Patricia Pendergrass from Missouri. He is survived by many cousins, relatives and good friends from all over who will miss him deeply.

The Vitale Family would like to extend their love and gratitude to Mallory Green, Walter Korzick, Mayor Shawn Gorham, Chief Stephen Schaumleffel, and the entire town of Rosebud for the love, support and friendship shared with David.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. A procession will be organized at 9:15 a.m. in the parking lot of the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Vietnam Veterans of America, Rhode Island SPCA, or other local animal shelter of your choice.
