David A. Narcisi, 68, of Hope RI, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 peacefully in his home after a nine-month battle with brain cancer.
David was born in Providence and graduated from Smithfield High School in 1972 and became a tradesman. He was the beloved husband of Diane (Roberts) Narcisi for 47 years. He leaves a daughter, Lisa Narcisi Stewart (Robert) and two grandsons, David and Oliver Stewart. He is the son of Joseph A. Narcisi and his late loving mother, Gilda (Ruggieri) Narcisi. He is also survived by his siblings, Joseph A. Narcisi, Jr., James S. Narcisi (Cathy) and Dianne M. Narcisi, and several nieces and nephews.
David chose a career as a pipefitter and plumber. He started his career with his uncle and soon moved on to Squizzero Plumbing and Heating. He then went into business with his cousin, Joseph Ruggieri and they formed Town & Country Plumbing & Heating. Later, David joined the union and became a union pipefitter from which he retired six years ago. He plied his trade with vigor and took on any kind of work. He truly became a master in his trades, completing beautiful work with great precision. One of his legacies is the completion of the piping for a farm at Roger Williams University that releases over a million cleaning oysters into Narragansett Bay.
David was a family man and always put his loved ones first. He worked tirelessly his entire life to provide for his wife, Diane and their daughter, Lisa. When Lisa gave birth to her first son, David was honored to have his grandson named after him. David smiled from ear to ear knowing that he now had a namesake. David loved to spend time with his grandsons, whether it was taking them on an adventure or just out with them. They were the light of his life.
David loved to travel. He was fortunate to visit almost every state in the United States and traveled to Canada and Europe, as well as the South Pacific. He was always up for a new adventure. Some of his favorite places on the East Coast were the White Mountains in New Hampshire and York and Ogunquit Beaches in Maine. He also loved the western part of the country, Arizona, Utah, Colorado and Idaho being his favorite western states. He was always excited to be venturing West.
David’s favorite European country was France. He loved everything about it. The people, food, sites, cafes, entertainment, countryside, and the enchanting city of Paris. He was always thrilled to head off for the adventures that awaiting him in France. He loved spending time in the Loir Valley at his friend’s chateau where he truly found peace.
David’s funeral will be held on Friday, September 30th at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS are FRIDAY MORNING from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
