DAVID S. MINICUCCI

90, of North Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Anna J. (Aquino) Minicucci, and Maria (Ricciardi) Minicucci. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Lucia (Borzaro) Minicucci. Mr. Minicucci was an administrator for the Providence School Department for thirty-six years before retiring in 1985 as a longtime Principal at Bridgham Middle School. David was a graduate of Providence College, Class of 1950, and LaSalle Academy. He attended Rhode Island College and Harvard University He was a US Army Air Corps veteran serving during WW II as a Second Lieutenant Flight Instructor. David was a member of the United Fly Tyers of Rhode Island, Federated Fly Fishers, West Bay Anglers, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was an accomplished artist, cartoonist, and writer.

He is survived by his loving children, Jane Gaudiana and her husband Frank of Johnston, Kathryn Stanford of Johnston, Lisa Zinno of North Providence, and Lora Minicucci of Johnston, his step children, Michael Stanley of Cranston, Robert Stanley of North Providence, Scott Stanley of Portland Maine, Christopher Stanley of Burbank, CA, and Kirk Stanley of North Providence. David was the cherished grandfather of ten and the great-grandfather of nine. He was the brother of the late Sylvester A. Minicucci, Jr. and Lucy Lauteiri.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, 549 Plainfield Street, Providence. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Sunday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the WW II Memorial Commission, 408 Broadway, Providence, RI 02909, or Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
