64, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Deborah Graves. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of Norma (Carefelt) Brais of Winston-Salem, NC, and the late Joseph Brais. David was the Director of Education and Career Development for Coldwell Banker Real Estate Company. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War Era. David was a graduate of Pawtucket High School, Class of 1966. He attended New York University, Farmingdale, NY for Landscape Design. David was a mentor, businessman, teacher, inventor, entrepreneur, and friend to all. He was an avid sailor, gardener, and landscape designer. Besides his wife and mother he is survived by his loving children, Michael Brais of New York, NY, John Brais and his wife Blanche of Winston-Salem, NC, Elizabeth Brais and her husband Alexander Bowles of Windmandhem, England, and his step children Robert Kaplan and his wife Jennifer of Warwick, and Christine Kaplan and her boyfriend Ivan Jenkins. He was the grandfather of five. He was the brother of the late Patricia Bedard . His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Interment with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
