82, of Strathcona Road, Cranston, died Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Kent County Hospital, Warwick. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Barboza) Cipalone. They were married for fifty-one years. Born in Johnston, he was a son of the late Giovanni and Beatrice (Coia) Cipalone. Mr. Cipalone was a detective with the Cranston Police Department for thirty years before retiring in 1985.He also was a former Federal Marshall at the Providence Federal Courthouse. Mr. Cipalone was the treasurer for the Cranston Police Department Retiree's Association, treasurer for the Cranston Community Action Program, member of the UCT, Grand Councilor of New England for UCT, communicant and usher at St. Matthew's Church. He was a WW II veteran serving in the US Navy. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Gregory D. Cipalone and his wife Deborah of East Providence, Glenn E. Cipalone, CPD of Cranston, Gary J. Cipalone and his wife Jennifer of Johnston, Daniel P. DiSano and his wife Fay of CA and David J. DiSano and his wife Mary of Providence. He was the grandfather of five grandsons, Gregory, Justin and Christopher Cipalone and Kevin and Brian DiSano and one granddaughter Krystal DiSano. Mr. Cipalone was the great-grandfather of Ava Marie Cipalone, Rayna, Jack, Julia and Ava. He was the brother of John R. Cipalone of Warwick, Patsy DiSegna and Anna Rampone both of Cranston. Mr. Cipalone was the grandfather of the late Scott DiSano and the brother of the late Nancy Pisaturo and Mary Parrillo. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church, Elmwood Avenue, Cranston.
