of Cranston passed away peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2021, surrounded by Rev. Fr. Kapriel Nazarian and loving family members. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Ashukian) Quam.
Dale was born in Arlington, South Dakota, to the late John and Bertha (Thompson) Quam. His brother Ronald, sister Joyce, brother Wayne, and brother-in-law Albert Ashukian have predeceased Dale. He is survived by his sister-in-law Phyllis Quam and his youngest brother Raymond and his wife Marilyn as well as brothers-in-law Harry Ashukian and Stephen Ashukian.
Dale Quam spent 20 years in the US Navy and reserves. He was a Chief Petty Officer for 10 years. His travels with the US Navy took him from Copenhagen to Casablanca. His profession was Aviation Electronics, and he worked at Quonset Point, RI and was then employed as a supervisor at the main post office in Providence.
Dale was always willing to help anyone in need. The one position he loved so much was the time he spent once a month for seven years teaching the Sunday School students about Jesus.
Dale and Mary became legal guardians of Mary’s cousins Beth and Wendy after their parents passed away. Dale enjoyed his time with three grandchildren – Zachary, Cassandra and Alexandra.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 24th at 11 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by burial with military honors at North Burial Ground, Providence. VISITING HOURS are Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dale’s memory to Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church’s Outreach Fund at 402 Broadway, Providence, Rhode Island 02909. All donations to the Outreach Fund will be used to help those in need.
