64, of Johnston, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Friday, August 18, 2023. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Mildred “Millie” (Silva) Bucci, and the late Herbert Bucci of Narragansett and Sun City Center, FL.
Cynthia (Cindy) spent her life as an avid baker, and her desserts were enjoyed by those near and dear. She worked for Women & Infants Hospital prior to pursuing her career in education. Cindy sought after her passions of writing and literature as a job coach, a career coordinator, and as an English teacher. Her career concluded at Brennan Middle School, where she then retired after a lifetime of accolades. Cindy was deeply loved and appreciated by all of her students and families alike, as well as her peers.
She spent her free time at the beach, baking, gardening, writing, watching the Red Sox and rallying behind those she loved. She was a passionate champion of others and everyone’s major-league cheerleader.
Cynthia is survived by her loving children, Stephanie Rotondo of Cincinnati, OH, Jonathan Rotondo and his wife Andrea of Pawtucket, Nicholas Rotondo and his wife Elisha of Johnston, and Keely Fowler of Johnston. She was the beloved sister of Deborah Buffi and her husband James of Smithfield, Gary Bucci and his wife Susan of Cranston, and Lisa Kocijan and her husband Roger of Sarasota, FL. Cherished grandmother of Ciana, Trey, and Jax McMillin.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Thursday morning from 8:30-10 a.m.
