87, of Warwick, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband on Carol N. (Contillo) Salzillo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carlo and Adelina (DiVona) Salzillo.
Richard was a music teacher for the Cranston Public Schools for many years before retiring. He also volunteered his time as a master gardener at URI. He was a member of the Providence Federation of Musicians.
Besides his wife Carol, he is survived by his three loving granddaughters, Adelina M. Iarocci and her husband Nicholas, Dina M. Stewart and her husband Patrick and Carolyn R. Salzillo and her companion Tomas Manzo; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Chloe, Savannah, Isabella and Nicalina. Richard was predeceased by his two dear sons, Richard W. Salzillo and his wife Pamela A. Salzillo and Carl M. Salzillo.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday, November 26, at 8:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd., Warwick. Entombment with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery Mausoleum, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Sunday, from 3:00 – 7:00 pm.
