Chris worked for Almacs Supermarket and was Produce Manager on the east side in Providence, in Johnston, and later on Murray St. in Providence before retiring in 1990. He was a WW-II U.S. Army veteran and a member of UFCW Local 328, Providence. Chris was an active member of St. Rocco's Feast and Festival and was known as "The Dough Boy King". He loved gardening and grew many beautiful flowers, and was a lifetime Red Sox fan.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Alice Ballou and her husband Michael of Smithfield; loving grandfather of Christopher M. Ballou of Cumberland; and dear brother of Anna D'Acchioli, Lena Mansolillo, Katherine "Kay" D'Acchioli and Cosmo D'Acchioli, all of Johnston and the late Mafalda DiRaimo, Andreana, Domenico, Olindo, Joseph and Ernest D'Acchioli.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS SUNDAY 4-8 p.m.
