Craig A. DeBartolo, 54, of Coventry passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Kent Hospital in Warwick after a courageous battle with COVID-19. He leaves behind his devoted wife of ten years, Gina-Marie (Coleman) DeBartolo, and his best friend, Latte. Craig is the son of Dolores A. (Neri) DeBartolo and the late James A. DeBartolo.
Born in Providence in the Silver Lake area, he excelled and competed in power lifting and broke several state and national records, including one in 2013 for a 550-pound bench press and another in 2015 for a dead lift of 660 pounds. As a young boy, he had a talent for auto mechanics, which he later put to work at Universal Trucking and Equipment. For the past several years, he owned and operated a snow removal and property maintenance company, Cee&Gee, LLC., with his wife Gina-Marie.
Good friends and family will remember Craig’s clever wit, loyalty, generosity, and on a deeper level, the inner strength, curiosity, and discernment that enabled him to overcome some of life’s rougher dealings.
Besides his wife and mother, Craig is survived by his two children, C. J. DeBartolo and Shauna (DeBartolo) Barbosa and her husband Steven, along with his four grandchildren, Dante, Desiree, Braedon, and Matteo. He is also survived by his sisters Deborah A. (DeBartolo) Marler and her husband Donovan and Renee M. (DeBartolo) Nicholson and her husband Neil and his brothers James V. and Ronnie DeBartolo and his fiancée Brenda Tyson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. And last but far from least, Craig leaves behind his devoted mother-in-law Christine A. (Dolbashian) Coleman who, perhaps more than anyone, enjoyed sparring with her irreverent fellow jokester.
VISITING HOURS are Thursday, January 20th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, (MASKS are REQUIRED). His funeral service and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RI SPCA, 186 Amaral St., Riverside, RI 02915.
