Concetta "Connie" A. (Tortolani) Caputo

passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Caputo. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Marianna Tortolani and is survived by her siblings Louis Tortolani, Adeline Badessa, Frank Tortolani, and Linda Durand along with her late siblings Marie Caputo, Margaret Palombo, and Anthony Tortolani.

Connie was the devoted mother of Barbara Savella and Dr. Edward Caputo; dear mother-in-law to Dr. Judith Caputo and the late George Savella; adoring and loving grandmother to Francesca (Daniel), Edward (Stefani), Brianna and Thomas.

Connie showed her graciousness for so many by all that she gave others. As a young woman,  she helped care for her siblings as the oldest of eight children.  On the occasion Connie did go out, she enjoyed dressing up and dancing; in fact, she met her beloved husband Tom at a local dance and the rest was history.

Along with being a dedicated mom, Connie was co-owner with her late husband, of Eddie and Son Diner in Providence, RI. for over 45 years, served as a Girl Scout leader, PTA president  at her children’s schools, member of the Alpine Country Club,  St. Bartholomew’s Guild, Legion of Mary  and even in her retirement volunteered at the Cranston Senior Center several days a week. Connie was always “doing” and it was a role she excelled at.

Connie truly enjoyed caring for others. Whether cooking, babysitting, mending, volunteering, donating- her heart was there for others. She took great pride in her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Connie cherished her family. She had a personality that lit up a room with her candor making conversations which were quite notable. Anyone who met or knew her can recall a memorable encounter.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, February 3 from 9am-10am at Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, RI; visitation is followed by Mass at 11am at St. Mark’s Church, 9 Garden Ct. Cranston, RI; Burial will be at St. Ann’s Cemetery following Mass.
