79, formerly of Narragansett, RI and Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2021 at her home in Rhode Island surrounded by her loving family. Connie was born in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Katherine (Zummo) Orlando. After graduating high school, Connie worked in Manhattan for Metromedia as a data processor until the birth of her first child in 1967. In 1960, a blind date introduced her to Richard Savarese. They were married in 1963 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn, New York. The couple moved from Brooklyn to Staten Island a year later as they began to raise their family. In 1976, they moved to East Greenwich, R.I. where they lived until 1989. The family then moved to Cowesett until Connie and Richard’s retirement in 2000. Connie worked closely with her husband, supporting his custom home building business as the book keeper, interior designer, and general partner. She was a smart business woman who was fierce and stood up for what she believed. She helped Richard build a successful business from the ground up with dedication, hard work, and perseverance. She was a very proud and protective mother of her two daughters and was always there to support them. When Richard and Connie retired in 2000, they spent the winters at their beachfront home in Fort Lauderdale. They travelled the world each year and visited countless countries. Above all of her favorite things to do, cooking was Connie’s absolute passion. Her dinner table was always filled with delicious Italian specialties and she was always happy to cook a big meal for her family and friends. Her grandsons always knew that they would have a feast when they went to Grandma Connie’s house. Connie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed. Connie was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Salvatore Orlando. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 58 years, Richard, and by her two daughters, Kimberly Bucci and her husband Paul from Cranston, RI and Valerie Cleary and her husband Terry from Harrisburg, NC. She was the proud grandmother of Drew Cleary and his fiance, Madison, Devin Cleary and his wife, Cassady, Brett Bucci, and Craig Bucci. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Saturday, November 13th 2021 in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. A Life Celebration will be next Friday, November 12, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm at NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett..
