92, of West Warwick, passed away on Sunday June 12, 2011 at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Alicia (Ferrini) Gentile. Christopher was born in Winsted, CT the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Mirando) Gentile. Mr. Gentile was the owner and operator of Sunoco Gas Station on Broadway in Providence and a proud WW II Army veteran. Chris was a dedicated husband and enjoyed spending time with his wife Alicia and traveling with friends and family. Chris was also a tank commander in the 2nd Armored Division "Hell On Wheels" serving under Gen. Patton helping the Allied Forces liberate Europe in WWII. His division the first to enter Germany and he also served actively in Africa, Belgium and on the beaches of Normandy. He is survived by his sisters Minnie Buonanno and Celia Langelo both of Warwick and many cherished, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Christopher was also the brother of the late Ben, Sam, Albert Gentile, Louise Sarno and Rita DiSanto. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service to be held on Wednesday at 10 am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. His burial with military honors will take place in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday morning 9-10 am.
