CHARLES A. 'CHOPMIST CHARLIE' MASSO

79, of Jamestown, formerly of Scituate, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Jane E. (Gustafson) Masso. Born in North Providence, he was a son of the late Thomas P. "Tommy" and Helen (Thibodeau) Masso. Mr. Masso was the founder and past president of Technodic Inc., of Providence for thirty-seven years before his retirement. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War era. He was a graduate of the New England Institute of Anatomy. Charles served as a member of the Scituate Town Council for twelve years. He was a past board member of RIPTA, and a member of the Longboat Harbor Yacht Club, FL. He is survived by his loving children, Cynthia L. Hoogasian and her husband Stephen, Charles T. "Chuck" Masso, all of Saunderstown, and Stephen P. Masso and his wife Robin of North Scituate. Charles was the cherished grandfather of Kayla and Kerry Harrington, Stephen and Candace Masso, and Stephanie and Geoffrey Hoogasian, and the great-grandfather of Hanna and Nathan Hoogasian. He was the brother of George P. Masso and the late Thomas J. Masso and C. Helene Martin. Charles was the companion of Judith Melzmuf of Greenville.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road (Rt.1A), Narragansett. Interment will be private. VISITING HOURS Friday 2-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jamestown Fire Department, 50 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, RI 02835.
